The brand-new TV anime THE GHOST IN THE SHELL kicked off its broadcast on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, opening a fresh chapter for the celebrated cyberpunk saga. It airs nationally through the Kansai TV / Fuji TV network every Tuesday at 11:00 PM, slotted into the “Ka-nival!!” programming block.

Timed with the launch, the show’s principal voice lineup has been unveiled, revealing the actors tasked with giving voice to this reimagined future and its iconic figures.

Maaya Sakamoto returns to play Motoko Kusanagi, the full-body cyborg at the heart of the story—a role she previously voiced in Ghost in the Shell: Arise.

The sixth promo clip for THE GHOST IN THE SHELL arrived alongside the casting news. For the first time, viewers get an audio taste of Motoko Kusanagi and the rest of Section 9, offering a sharper sense of the show’s mood, tone, and creative approach.

The trailer spotlights the newly revealed cast while showing off the combat, cybernetic design, and futuristic cityscape that define this fresh take on the classic setting.

4th Key Visual Revealed Showcasing a New Generation of Cyberpunk Action

A fourth key visual has also dropped. Drawn by character designer and chief animation director Shuhei Handa, the piece conveys the idea of a “new generation of cyberpunk action.”

It assembles Motoko Kusanagi, the Section 9 squad, the enigmatic hacker dubbed “The Puppet Master,” and other pivotal characters who will shape the story. The artwork conveys the breadth and intricacy of the anime’s world.

Episode 01 End Card Features New Artwork by Yoji Shinkawa

The Episode 01 end card carries a fresh illustration by Yoji Shinkawa. Famous for his character, mecha, and background concept work, Shinkawa has contributed to major titles such as Death Stranding and currently holds the post of Art Director at Kojima Productions.

His exclusive piece was made to honor the premiere episode, adding another highlight to the series launch.
